Digital Access Scotland

Digital Access Scotland (DAS) will take forward a vision to enable all citizens to digitally access the wealth of information and resources held in Scotland’s libraries, museums and archives and to maximize the potential use and reach of these resources.  The new forum established by SLIC, Museum and Galleries Scotland, Scottish Council on Archives, National Archives of Scotland, National Galleries of Scotland, National Library of Scotland, National Museums of Scotland, Historic Scotland, Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Scotland, and chaired by SLIC Director Elaine Fulton entered into formal partnership last February with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.   Yesterday Digital Access Scotland held a consultation event in Edinburgh. Almost  70 delegates took part in enthusiastic discussions on next steps for digital initiatives in Scotland and explored how we can work collaboratively both with each other and with key partners such as JISC’s Strategic Content Alliance.
